More shadow play | Brahmagiri Trek
Clicked in December 2005, atop the Narimale Peak (1390m) / Brahmagiri Trek (*album)
I was disappointed with the click as it did not happen as I pre-visualised it. The colors of the sky seemed to be weirdly recorded on the slide. I walked forward and behind many times to try and not to place my shadow all the way up to the edge of the grass and yet I screwed up. The grass captured appears flat and a sense of depth and dimension seems to be non - existent, except at the right corner where you can see some hills beyond the human figure (Sudu).
Now when I try and see it from a different perspective, it doesn’t look so bad. The flatness in the image seems to give it a touch of the unreal. The tendrils of the grass against the sky appear luminescent and makes it seem like a cut/paste from another image. And you have the hills magically present only in the direction where the subject (Sudu) is looking. Haha!
In the end, I find myself falling in love with the picture ![]()
