Maddur, on a sunny day, dusty and rugged mud roads, bikes at high speeds. Though it does not come close to seeing a car rally, it was still something to be there and to click photos. A month back this village even witnessed a car rally.
After going up and down the track in Venky’s Maruti Gypsy exactly in the rally fashion, by late afternoon we managed to find ourselves a good spot to witness the next stage of the race. Venky’s radio communication equipment kept us in touch with the rally operators and we got to know every little thing that was happening. He was there as a volunteer and helped out in keeping tabs on the bikes passing by. It was an interesting experience.
In the end, the spot we chose had a water canal running on the side. Loads of villagers, kids, and some city slickers gathered to watch the race, along with a lone policeman there to ensure safety at the premises. All these created some amazing opportunities for us shutter crazy folks who ended up clicking fervently as we enjoyed ourselves.
