I sit by the window on the train heading to Bangalore. I had been sitting there with my camera for a few hours now, staring at the life outside for something interesting, waiting for the sun to set so I could try some shots and meanwhile hoping that the train would slow down around the exact same time when that something happens. I am an optimist when I dream
Finally, I see a sunset that I want to capture with my camera. It was perfect in every sense, open meadows and a beautiful fiery red sun at the horizon.
I sit by the window, with a camera in my hand, my eyes on the viewfinder looking at setting sun and all I could see were trees, trees, trees and more trees whizzing past me, blocking my view of the fabulous sunset. With the hope of the train slowing down now soaked in pessimism, I am angry & fuming like a dragon while the sun sinks into the horizon. And then it happens, a light bulb moment. And the result is a photograph unlike any I have taken before.
PS: Here is a snap of my friend Srini shooting the sun from the train.
